Abstract

contraceptive use but also by inadequate healthy lifestyle practices. Limited knowledge regarding balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, and healthy sleep habits may affect quality of life and women's perceptions of hormonal contraceptive use. This community service program aimed to implement a community-based promotive education program to improve healthy lifestyle behaviors among hormonal contraceptive users in Tondomulyo, Jakenan, Pati. A participatory educational approach was employed through interactive lectures, group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, experience sharing, and demonstrations of light physical exercise and relaxation techniques. The program involved 20 hormonal contraceptive users. Program evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure participants' knowledge, followed by a healthy lifestyle commitment questionnaire completed after the educational session. The results demonstrated that the mean knowledge score increased from 59.3 before the intervention to 85.9 after the intervention, representing a 26.6-point improvement. Furthermore, 95% of participants committed to adopting a balanced diet, 90% committed to engaging in regular physical activity, 85% committed to practicing stress management, 80% committed to improving sleep quality, and all participants (100%) expressed willingness to participate in future health education programs. The implementation of community-based promotive education was effective in improving participants' knowledge and strengthening their commitment to adopting healthy lifestyle behaviors. Continuous implementation and integration of similar educational programs into routine family planning services are recommended to support better reproductive health and quality of life among hormonal contraceptive users.
